Classic american apple pie recipe



It is September, which means that apple season is here. To this month just apples belong and picking apple is perfect activities for fall, so I must put it to my to-do list at fall.


Picking apples is perfect fun, but what is even better make from the bunch of apple tradition apple pie with crust. If you want to make something easier you can try my french rustic apple galette. So yummy a tasty. But it is something on a classic pie. And my fall can´t be without it. So fancy.


I looked forward to baking this pie even more because I bought a new cute form, which you can see in the photos and inside is a written recipe, which is really cute I think. Also, outside the form have blue, which is one of my favorite colors.





But back to the pie.


The dought is made from only 5 ingredients and it is always better to chill the dought in the fridge during the night.


What is the best on this recipe is that you can use any fruit you like. I will today make apple pie, but I think I try soon some with kirch or plums but it is also great for summer and spring. Summer pie is with peaches and spring maybe with strawberries or cherries.

So this recipe is perfect all year round.





How to make perfect apple pie:


First of all, you need to pick apples. Then prepare dought. Simply mix all the ingredients and forms them to the ball, leave during the night at the fridge. Then dough divides into two pieces.


From the one roll circle a remove it to form. Gently press the dough to form. Fill it with cut apples mix with the rest of the ingredients for filling.


Now take the second piece of the dough and roll to circle, cut strips from the dought. Place each other strip to the top of the pie. Create a lattice pattern by alternating and folding with the rest of the strips. Trim overlapping strips.


Now create an edge. Fold back the rim of the shell over the edge of the lattice strips, and crimp to secure. Brush top with the egg and sprinkle with nuts.




Few notes to the recipe:


Don´t put the butter from the fridge before you will be making dough. It should be cold. Also I put to water from the dough some ice.


I split the pie with some liker or something like that just one or two tbsp. It gives the pie great taste.




CLASSIC AMERICAN APPLE PIE

INGREDIENTS


DOUGH

315 g all-purpose flour

225 g butter also cold

1 tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

120 ml cold water I put to water some ice


FILLING


2 1/2 apples

2 tbsp vanilla sugar

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp cinamon

1 egg

1 tbsp brown sugar

liqueur (optional)




INSTRUCTION


1. Preheat oven for 155 degrees. Prepare the pie forms and line with the perchmant paper.


2. Prepare glass with water and put to water 3 ice cubes. Then cut the butter for small pieces.


3. Put sugar, flour, salt and cut butter to a large bowl.


4. Then I cut with night the butter with the rest of the ingredients in the bowl until small pieces size of hrášku are made.


5. Then I add water and mix it with a wooden spoon when butter is form I you gently make a ball from the batter with hand. Do not overwork the batter. In the batter should stay small pieces of butter.


6. Then I pack batter to foil and put the batter to the fridge at least for one hour. Put the dough to the fridge and meanwhile prepare filling.


7. Peel the apples and cut them to small slices. Put them to bowl and add vanila sugar, flour, and cinamon. Mix it gently.

10. Now create an edge. Fold back the rim of the shell over the edge of the lattice strips, and crimp to secure. Whisk the egg in a small bowl. Pour the pie with liqueur. Brush top of the pie with the egg and sprinkle with brown sugar.


11. Bake 45 minutes for 155 degrees C or until is pie gold on top.
